December 17, 2008
As you look at the
landscape of your life, do you see opportunities, possibilities, and
blessings, or do you focus on the more negative scenery? Do you spend
more time counting your blessings or your misfortunes? If you've
acquired the unfortunate habit of focusing too intently upon the
negative aspects of life, then your spiritual vision is in need of
correction. Today is yet another gift from God and it presents yet
another opportunity to thank Him for His gifts … or not. The way you
choose to view the scenery around you will have a profound impact on the
quality, the tone, and the direction of your life. The more you focus
on the beauty that surrounds you, the more beautiful your own life
becomes. People always ask me why do I smile all the time and how do I
feel when I dance. Well it makes me feel beautiful in the inside and
let me see if I can explain what laughter and dancing means to me.
Laughter
is medicine for the soul, but sometimes amid the stresses of the day we
forget to take our medicine. Instead of viewing our world with a
mixture of optimism and humor, we allow worries and distractions to rob
us of the joy that God intends for our lives. The next time you find
yourself dwelling on the negatives of life, refocus your attention to
things positive. The next time you find yourself falling prey to the
blight of pessimism, stop yourself and turn your thoughts around. And
if you see your glass as "half-empty," rest assured your spiritual
vision is impaired. As you go about your daily activities, approach
life with a smile on your lips and hope in your heart. And laugh every
chance you get. After all, God created laughter for a reason … and
Father indeed knows best. So laugh!
Dancing
is excellent for the soul. You can let your mind wander as you trip the
light fantastic. A dance class can be a pleasant trip down memory lane,
or a stimulating voyage into new musical realms. Dance is an expression
of your personality and a way of exploring who you are.
What's more, exercising can lift your
mood and reduce the risk of depression - don't overlook the feel good
factor. And let's not forget the sense of achievement you'll feel as you
master the most complex of moves - finding something you enjoy, and that
you can see and feel your improvement at with practice, can give your
confidence an enormous boost, dancing to music helps to relieve
pressure. All in all making, you a happier, fitter, sexier, and a much
more confident person.
Dancing helps to reduce the risk of
osteoporosis because the steps put a strain on your bones, helping them
to stay strong and dense. The denser your bones are, the longer your
bones will remain strong.
Regular dancing will also help keep you
trim. As you shimmy across the floor, you'll be burning calories: in
just a half-hour dance session, an average 60kg person will burn at
least 99 calories. Of course this varies - Swing dancing is classed as
a high-intensity cardiovascular activity which can burn up to 450
calories an hour, so you'll burn more with a Jazzee Jewel style than
beginning dancing because you're moving more of your body. If you have
not been to a my swingout dance class, please do, hip aerobics and line
dances are a plus!
Dancing also benefits your social life
and you may also find your life long partner in dance class! Many
have!!!!!
